The new National Flood Risk Assessment (NaFRA2) provides a unified perspective on current
and future flood risks from rivers and the sea, and from surface water. This talk highlights
the methods and technologies used in processing NaFRA2 on AWS, and how the cloud has
enabled deeper, more targeted queries of the data, to enhance decision-making and risk
management.
Step into the future of geospatial analytics with this new demo exhibited at re:Invent 2024.
Experience first-hand how AWS-powered Geospatial Foundation Models (GeoFMs) are
revolutionizing Earth observation, processing petabytes of satellite data to monitor critical
ecosystems like the Amazon rain forest.
LxGenAIEarthMapper is an innovative generative AI system within LuxCarta's BrightEarth.ai
platform that combines Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs)
to enable natural language interactions with satellite imagery. This presentation will
showcase real-world applications and the underlying AI architecture that makes this
breakthrough possible.
Pole Star collaborated with CloudScaler to develop a secure and governed data platform
on AWS, utilizing AWS Landing Zone and Lake Formation to implement fine-grained access
controls and automated data management.
The solution incorporated key components like S3 data lakes, Glue crawlers, and IAM
Identity Center integration, resulting in a scalable platform that enables controlled data
access and automated metadata management while maintaining strict governance
standards.
Industry experts will share insights on AI's impact in the geospatial sector over the past 12-
18 months, discussing trends in data processing, skill requirements, and strategic
partnerships.
The panel will explore whether AI is genuinely transforming the geospatial industry or if it's
